Winter Ice Rinks Open Across Europe and U.S.

Seasonal ice-skating options are opening or returning across Europe and the United States for winter 2026–27. Vienna’s Ice Skating Club opened Nov. 3 with free skating, and other city rinks are expected to follow through mid-November; European destinations also include Amsterdam’s Museumplein and London’s Somerset House. In the United States, Asheville’s downtown rink runs Nov. 20 through Jan. 18, while Monona’s River Rink opens Nov. 21 with refrigerated outdoor ice, rentals, fire pits and indoor warming areas. New listings include free outdoor skating at Rosemont’s Parkway Bank Park, a free skate night at Edison’s Roosevelt Park, South Jordan’s Winter Village, and a free reservation-based indoor synthetic rink at Minneapolis’s Children’s Theatre Company; Chicago-area options include admission prices up to about $23. Grants and local support are helping keep public skating accessible in Saranac Lake, and offerings elsewhere vary in dates, prices, reservations and amenities.
