Diwali Celebrations Span India and Global Diaspora
Diwali celebrations across India and the global diaspora highlighted themes of light overcoming darkness, hope, family and generosity. In Delhi, a two-day government festival at Connaught Place’s Central Park featured a Ramayana-themed drone show, a Lakshmi aarti and devotional music in contemporary styles. Ayodhya hosted Ramayana performances, light displays, music, fireworks and drones, while more than 25,000 worshippers attended festivities at Dubai’s Hindu Temple; Abu Dhabi’s Baps Hindu Mandir scheduled ceremonies and activities through November 10, and UAE leaders sent greetings. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urged people to share with those in need, support local businesses and celebrate cleanly and with environmental awareness. Travel data indicated growing demand for Diwali getaways, with strong booking increases in destinations including Udaipur, Bengaluru and Jaipur.
