New Jersey Ticket Wins $847 Million Powerball Jackpot
A New Jersey ticket won the $847 million Powerball jackpot on Nov. 4, the ninth-largest in the game’s history; the winner may take an estimated $363.1 million lump sum before taxes or receive the prize in annuity payments over 29 years. The jackpot reset for the Nov. 7 drawing, which had winning numbers 3, 36, 37, 56 and 61, with 21 as the Powerball, and a $20 million jackpot or estimated $8.6 million cash option. The next drawing was scheduled for Nov. 9. Separately, a Florida Lotto ticket sold at a Publix in Spring Hill won a $10.75 million jackpot in September, and the prize was claimed in November with the winner choosing the cash option.
