Lilly, Roche plan Alzheimer’s blood screening in Korea
Eli Lilly and Roche Diagnostics Korea have agreed to promote blood-based biomarker testing as an early step in Alzheimer’s diagnosis, aiming to identify patients who may need confirmation through more costly amyloid PET scans or cerebrospinal fluid tests. Their partnership plans to support clinical adoption, clinician education and research into how well the tests work in Korean medical settings. The approach complements brain imaging: amyloid PET can confirm amyloid pathology and help guide decisions about anti-amyloid treatments, while tau PET may offer information about disease progression and prognosis.
