Livestock events, tours showcase agriculture education
Agricultural fairs and hands-on programs are helping connect young people and the public with livestock and farming. At state fair birthing centers in Oklahoma and Kansas, visitors can see young animals and learn about animal care, livestock production and veterinary work; organizers say these experiences are especially valuable as many Americans have limited familiarity with agriculture. Murdoch University students toured farms and other livestock businesses across Western Australia to learn about the supply chain, career options and industry expectations. In South Dakota, the Western Junior Livestock Show gives young people an opportunity to exhibit animals and compete.
