Makers pair wine shops with workshops and splatter rooms in local hubs
Creative businesses and programs are creating hands-on opportunities for people to make and learn. In Wauwatosa, The Local Makery combines a wine shop and bookstore with workshops, a makers market and private event space, while downtown Greeley’s Makers Mercantile gives local artists a place to sell work and teach classes, alongside activities such as a splatter room. MAKE Southwest in Bovey Tracey will host a free weekend of demonstrations, talks, workshops and family activities showcasing crafts ranging from ceramics and wood carving to glasswork and printmaking. In New York, the Van Cortlandt branch will offer children ages 5 to 12 a crafting club with supplied materials and projects designed to encourage creativity and problem-solving.
