Louisiana Youth Livestock Sale Raises Over $470,000

Louisiana’s Junior Livestock Sale at the State Fair showcased young exhibitors’ cattle, sheep, pigs and goats after months of preparation. The auction generated more than $470,000 for the state’s young farmers, with Grand Champion Steer exhibitor Owen Domingue’s steer selling for $13,000. Organizers say the annual event supports youth agriculture and helps students build responsibility, work ethic and animal-care skills.
