Lula Edges Bolsonaro in Tight Brazil Poll

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has regained a narrow advantage over Senator Flávio Bolsonaro in the presidential race, though multiple polls show the contest remains effectively tied. A BTG Pactual/Nexus survey puts Lula ahead of Bolsonaro 47% to 46% in a potential runoff, reversing a one-point deficit in the previous poll, while a Datafolha survey gives Lula a 46%-44% runoff lead. In first-round voting, the BTG/Nexus poll shows Lula leading Bolsonaro 42% to 37%, with the election headed to a runoff if neither wins more than half of the vote.
