LVIA board approves 55 million dollar parking garage

Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority’s board unanimously approved a $55 million, five-level public parking garage at Lehigh Valley International Airport to address parking shortages amid record passenger traffic and expanded flight options. The garage, planned within the existing short-term lot, will add about 1,000 spaces to the airport’s roughly 1,700 public spaces and include a covered pedestrian walkway directly to the main terminal, along with sustainable design and digital parking features. It is expected to open by 2029. During construction, the airport plans to increase shuttle service to overflow and long-term lots and temporarily add parking areas.
