Lynx Sign Aari McDonald, Waive Eliška Joklová
The Minnesota Lynx signed guard Aari McDonald and waived guard Eliška Joklová in a roster move made during the WNBA’s FIBA World Cup break. McDonald, a former No. 3 overall pick, returns to the league after playing 20 games for the Indiana Fever in 2025, when she averaged roughly 9.8 points, 4.7 assists and 2.4 rebounds before a season-ending right-foot injury. She previously played for the Atlanta Dream and Los Angeles Sparks and owns career averages of 8.8 points, 3.1 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game. The former Arizona standout helped lead the Wildcats to their first Final Four and national championship-game appearance and was later inducted into the school’s Ring of Honor. Minnesota leads the WNBA at 31-9 and is adding McDonald for depth as it prepares to resume play and enter the playoffs.
