Mahomes-to-Kelce TD Gives Chiefs Early Lead
The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Indianapolis Colts 33-30 in overtime on Sunday Night Football at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on September 20/21, 2026. Harrison Butker won it with a 40-yard field goal as time expired after Patrick Mahomes and Kenneth Walker III set up the kick. Earlier in overtime Butker made a 31-yard field goal; the Colts answered with a deep pass to Laquon Treadwell ruled a fumble on the field, then overturned on replay to down by contact, before tying on a field goal. Mahomes threw three touchdowns; Maitland Mercury and Marca put him at 382 passing yards while headtopics listed 372. Walker ran for 117 yards. Travis Kelce had nine catches for 101 yards and a touchdown. Daniel Jones threw for 210 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Jonathan Taylor rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns, including a 24-yard run. Kristian Fulton's first-quarter interception of Jones set up Mahomes' touchdown to Kelce for an early lead. Jalen Royals scored his first career touchdown on a fourth-down play in the third quarter. Butker had missed a 51-yard try earlier. The Chiefs reached 2-0; the Colts stood at 0-2.
