Man arrested after Alexandria van taken to Monroe

A 52-year-old Natchitoches man, Danny L. Slaughter, was arrested after police say he threatened the driver and two passengers aboard an Alexandria ATRANS van and forced the driver to take it nearly 100 miles to Monroe. The driver and one passenger got out after the van reached Monroe; officers stopped it shortly afterward and recovered the second passenger. All three people were safe and uninjured. Alexandria and Monroe police are continuing a joint investigation.
