Man charged in Lawrence woman's overdose death

Miles Robert Clasen, 25, of Lawrence, Kansas, was arrested and charged with distributing a controlled substance that allegedly caused the death of 21-year-old Olivia Mae Hassell in July 2025. Hassell was found unresponsive at home; multiple doses of Narcan and other emergency efforts did not revive her, and she died at the hospital. Lawrence police said their investigation traced the drugs to Clasen. He is being held in the Douglas County Jail, and court records show he has other pending drug cases.
