Man Pleads Guilty to Evansville Realtor Murder

Jamerus P. Parkman, 35, pleaded guilty to murder and burglary in the strangling death of Susan Haynie, a 75-year-old Evansville real estate agent whose body was found in her home’s basement. Investigators said evidence connected Parkman to the crime, including a tablet indicating he was in Haynie’s yard around the time of her death, and believe he entered through an unlocked door. Parkman had been paroled months before the killing after serving 13 years of a 35-year sentence for earlier crimes. He is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 2.
