Manufacturing Growth Plans Span Multiple Regions
New York City’s Brooklyn Army Terminal is expanding its role as an industrial campus, with more than 250,000 square feet of new space planned and tenant support such as ferry access, parking, childcare and workforce partnerships. Spain’s Nagami has grown from an architecture and design studio into a digital manufacturing company, integrating software, robotics, materials expertise and 3D printing to produce objects and spaces. In Memphis, manufacturing employment has fallen sharply from its late-20th-century peak, but the sector remains significant and local leaders see potential for renewed growth alongside the region’s logistics industry. Australian lifting-equipment maker Andromeda Industries traces its origins to founder Raymond McLaren’s development of Superflex, a product combining flexibility with the strength of steel wire rope; the company is now led by longtime employee Annette Williams. In Lafayette, current manufacturing-related hiring includes roles in pharmaceutical quality systems, commercial printing and aluminum extrusion, though listings may change.
