Mariners prospect Michael Arroyo faces April 2027 return after elbow surgery

Seattle Mariners prospect Michael Arroyo underwent a minimally invasive right-elbow scope to remove cartilage and brace a chronic UCL injury. The team said he is expected to return to game participation in April 2027, a timeline that could cost him spring training and delay his start to the season; one report said he would be ready by opening day. The procedure may also prevent him from playing winter-league games the Mariners hoped would give him more experience in left field. Arroyo, 21, impressed after his September call-up, hitting .371 in 15 major-league games, and is ranked the Mariners’ No. 3 prospect by MLB Pipeline.
