Maritime Career Events Reach Hundreds of Students
Maritime career events are connecting students with opportunities across shipping, engineering, trades and related fields. Maine Maritime Academy reported its largest career fair in at least 20 years, drawing more than 130 employers and over 600 students to explore internships and jobs. In the St. Louis area, high school students visited a maritime museum for hands-on activities illustrating towboat navigation, river safety and industry careers. Toledo’s National Museum of the Great Lakes planned a Maritime Career Day for Oct. 27, with more than 30 career partners expected to introduce students in grades 7–12 to fields including engineering, environmental science, shipping and tourism.
