Mark Harmon returns full time as Gibbs in NCIS: Origins season 3

Mark Harmon is returning full time as Leroy Jethro Gibbs in Season 3 of NCIS: Origins, reprising the role across a present-day Alaska storyline and the prequel’s 1992 Camp Pendleton timeline. The season premiere, “Don’t You Forget About Me,” follows Gibbs’ interrupted retirement after unresolved events from his past resurface, including the kidnapping of NIS agent Randy Randolf and a case involving a suspected Russian spy. Younger Gibbs, played by Austin Stowell, will deal with the aftermath of his relationship with Cecilia “Lala” Dominguez as the season explores how his early experiences shaped the character fans know from NCIS. Bobby Moynihan’s Woodrow “Woody” Browne is also set to appear in the present-day storyline, connecting the prequel more directly to the broader franchise. Season 3 premieres Oct. 6 and will consist of 10 episodes.
