Markel Partners With Midwest on California Workers’ Comp

Markel is partnering with Midwest General Insurance Agency, an Acrisure subsidiary, to expand workers’ compensation coverage for small businesses in California. Midwest, which has more than 20 years of experience operating as a managing general agency, will provide capabilities spanning marketing, underwriting, policy issuance, claims, loss control and online quoting. Markel said Midwest’s data-driven approach to risk selection and knowledge of California’s workers’ compensation market align with its strategy of growing the business profitably. The collaboration is intended to broaden Markel’s reach while serving the often specialized needs of smaller employers.
