Looting damages Olympique de Marseille and Lille club stores during unrest

Violence and looting during weekend protests across France over rising prices and declining public services damaged official stores belonging to Ligue 1 clubs Olympique de Marseille and Lille. Marseille said damage to its La Canebière shop, operated by Puma, forced a temporary closure; other club outlets remain open, and the club will announce when the branch can safely reopen. Lille reported severe vandalism and looting at its Rue Faidherbe store, which will remain closed until further notice, and thanked employees and others who offered assistance. Authorities in Marseille banned public gatherings on Monday amid the unrest, which also brought arrests and damage to businesses in several cities.
