MASS MoCA will host a fall season featuring experimental opera, ballet, puppetry, and live music, beginning Sept. 12. The season opens with an immersive 17-minute video installation by Son Lux that remixes both the band’s songs and music videos to create an expressionistic experience visitors can inhabit simultaneously. The museum also plans programming through December, including Laurent Grasso’s “Metaphysical Maze” in Building 5 on Nov. 7 and a performance by Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams with her band on Oct. 2. Other events include an Oct. 9 talk by Melissa Auf der Maur on her memoir and photography, an Oct. 17 discussion with cartoonists Roz Chast and Jason Adam Katzenstein, and a Nov. 14 program led by jazz artist Endea Owens. MASS MoCA’s campus opened in 1999 and evolved from the former Arnold Print Works textile mill into a contemporary art museum and fabrication center.
