Mayfield Expected Back in Rays-Made Glove vs Panthers

Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is preparing to return after missing three games with a dislocated thumb on his throwing hand. The Tampa Bay Rays’ clubhouse staff worked with the Buccaneers to make him a custom protective glove, with versions designed to guard his thumb without restricting movement. Mayfield says the glove feels familiar, though he is adjusting his grip and release, and his center has practiced securing the snap to avoid aggravating the injury. Mayfield participated fully in practice, and the Buccaneers are counting on him to lead their offense against Carolina.
