Pat McAfee reads from Book of Mormon on GameDay at BYU

During ESPN’s College GameDay broadcast from BYU ahead of its top-10 matchup with Notre Dame, Pat McAfee read a passage from the Book of Mormon to an enthusiastic Provo crowd. He jokingly connected the verse’s reference to “possess” with BYU’s offense, then praised Utah as well, drawing boos. The moment delighted many fans, though some viewers criticized McAfee or questioned the show’s treatment of religious expression. McAfee later picked BYU to win, while the GameDay panel split its predictions evenly.
