Men face attempted-murder charges after shootings
Three separate shooting cases resulted in attempted-murder charges. In Collinsville, Illinois, Stephen R. Vasser II is accused of threatening a victim, chasing the victim’s vehicle and firing at it, while also possessing several firearms, including a stolen gun; he faces additional weapons charges. In Bladenboro, North Carolina, Joseph Allen Banner Jr. was charged after a shooting that injured Mario Gillespie and is being held without bond. In Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 22-year-old Taboris Doss faces three attempted-murder counts after two people were wounded while, investigators say, he was trying to shoot a third person amid an ongoing dispute; he is also held without bond.
