Mensah Stars as Miami Routs FAMU, 77-7
Miami quarterback Darian Mensah strengthened his early Heisman Trophy case by completing 14 of 15 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns in the No. 7 Hurricanes’ 77-7 win over Florida A&M. Through two games, Mensah has completed 91.1% of his passes for 653 yards, eight touchdowns and no interceptions, while Miami has opened the season 2-0. His performance has moved him to the top of FanDuel’s Heisman odds at +500, ahead of Texas quarterback Arch Manning, while Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney is also among the leading contenders. Analysts have praised Mensah’s accuracy, arm strength and poise despite joining Miami after previous stops at Tulane and Duke, viewing him as a key part of the team’s national championship ambitions. Miami’s next game is an ACC matchup at Wake Forest.
