Mercer Beats Chattanooga 14-7 in Overtime

Mercer defeated Chattanooga 14-7 in overtime, with quarterback JP Pickles connecting with Brayden Smith for the go-ahead touchdown before Mercer’s Mike Polke recovered a fumble to end the game. The low-scoring Southern Conference matchup was tied 7-7 at halftime, and Mercer prevailed despite missing three field goals in regulation. The result fit the pregame expectation of a defensive, close contest, with Mercer favored to make the difference on the road.
