Mexico Arrests, Extradites Sikh Killing Suspect

Alberto Alonso Alencastro, 25, has been arrested in Mexico and returned to San Joaquin County in connection with the kidnapping and killing of Avtar Singh, authorities said. Singh, 57, was taken from a Tracy Sikh temple in February by three men and later found dead near Lake Berryessa. Investigators believe Singh was mistakenly targeted in a case linked to a stolen cargo trailer; the intended target was reportedly in Canada at the time. Two other suspects, Alfonso Cresencio Segura Arellano and Barnabe Antonio Segura Arellano, remain at large. Singh was a longtime temple volunteer and left behind his wife and young triplets.
