Milei pitches Argentina as regulation-free AI hub
President Javier Milei is promoting Argentina as a hands-off destination for AI and data-center investment, saying his government will not regulate artificial intelligence. He is also backing the Super RIGI bill, which would offer major projects—including AI and data centers—a 15% corporate tax rate and other long-term incentives; the bill has passed the lower house and awaits Senate approval. Argentina is courting technology firms and investors, while Patagonia’s open land, cool climate, wind resources and nearby shale deposits are presented as advantages for building and powering data centers. The pitch comes as data-center projects face opposition over energy and infrastructure demands in the United States and Europe, and a planned $3 billion Patagonia project has yet to secure a customer.
