Militaries Advance AI-Guided Drone Capabilities

Military organizations are accelerating the development and testing of AI-enabled autonomous systems for battlefield operations. Israel’s Elbit Systems has introduced FUSE, an integrated system designed to coordinate swarms of unmanned aerial and ground vehicles, share mission data, recognize and track targets, and operate despite GPS disruption. In Ukraine, the Defense Ministry and Brave1 conducted standardized tests of AI-guided drones against moving lightly armored targets; six of seven manufacturers succeeded, and officials said AI-assisted strike hits have increased tenfold since the start of the year. Ukrainian officials emphasized that AI supports targeting accuracy while a human operator retains final authority over attacks. India’s White Knight Corps also showcased domestically developed systems involving unmanned aircraft, counter-drone technology, autonomous AI systems and stealth capabilities.
