Minter Rejects Excuses After Ravens’ Fourth Straight Loss

The Baltimore Ravens fell to 4-5 after a 33-10 loss to Jacksonville, extending their losing streak to four games and prompting coach Jesse Minter to tell players there are “no excuses” despite a severe quarterback injury crisis. Lamar Jackson is on injured reserve and backup Tyler Huntley is also unavailable, leaving undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano to start; the Ravens are expected to bring in veteran Jacoby Brissett. Baltimore’s offense has scored fewer than 14 points in four straight games, a franchise first, and turnovers and pre-snap penalties contributed to the latest defeat. The team’s second-half struggles have become a pattern, while its defense has also allowed at least 33 points in three of the past four losses. Minter said the results are unacceptable and stressed that players and coaches must take responsibility for the team’s inconsistent play.
