The Missouri State Highway Patrol is accepting applications for recruit classes beginning in May and October 2027, with testing held in Jefferson City. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and be at least 21 when they graduate from the Patrol’s academy; the selection process includes fitness testing, a polygraph, background checks, medical and psychological evaluations, and drug screening. Academy entrants earn $66,432 annually, rising to $73,824 upon graduation, with pay potentially reaching $98,448 after 12 years; benefits include health insurance and retirement. Graduates may also qualify for college credits through Missouri universities, and recruits may be eligible for an associate degree through Mineral Area College.
