Mobile Neurosurgeon Found Dead Amid Child Porn Case

Mobile neurosurgeon Shawn Clark, 59, who was facing child pornography charges in Mobile and Baldwin counties, was found dead Monday inside a vehicle in a parking lot on Airport Boulevard. He had been released on bond days earlier after a grand jury indictment in Mobile County; his medical license had been suspended. Police said the death did not appear to involve foul play and was not being treated as a criminal case, and said an autopsy would determine the cause. Clark’s attorney said she found him and called for help; he had previously attempted suicide while jailed in September, but authorities have not officially determined how he died.
