Molecular Partners to Cut 44% of Workforce for Radiotherapy Focus
Swiss biotech Molecular Partners plans to cut up to 55 jobs, about 44% of its workforce, as it redirects resources toward targeted radiotherapeutic medicines for cancer. The company is prioritizing MP0712, its lead Radio-DARPin candidate, while continuing to advance other radiotherapy programs and seeking ways to develop other research areas, including immunotherapies, through spin-offs. The MP0712 Phase 1/2a trial is ongoing; initial safety data are expected in December 2026 and efficacy results in 2027. The workforce changes are expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2027, with full cost savings taking effect in the second half of that year; the company reported CHF 57.5 million in cash at the end of September 2026 and expects funding to last into late 2027.
