Monroe City Earns First State Cross-Country Trophy
Monroe City’s girls cross-country team earned the first state trophy in program history, finishing fourth in the Class 2 state championships after tying Fatima and winning the tiebreaker on the strength of its sixth runner, Cadence Adams. The result ended a three-year run of fifth-place finishes and exceeded the Panthers’ No. 8 ranking entering the meet. Sophomore Kate Willingham led Monroe City in 24th place with a school-record time of 20:04.3, while Bradi Keller placed 30th to earn All-State honors.
