A Dayton mother faces five misdemeanor child-endangerment charges after authorities found five children, ages 4 to 12, living in a boarded-up home on Delphos Avenue without food or utilities and with no adult present. Their 15-year-old brother was also reportedly living there but was at school when officers responded to a welfare check on Oct. 1. Police said the family had been staying in the home for about three weeks; the children were placed with county services or a relative, and the family received help securing housing.
