Prattville police officer dies in off-duty Alabama motorcycle crash

Prattville, Alabama, police Cpl. Dakota Lee Davis, 25, died from injuries sustained in an off-duty motorcycle crash Monday on U.S. 31 near the Interstate 65 Pine Level exit in Autauga County. Davis had served with the department for two years. Police and fire officials expressed grief and asked the community to support his family and colleagues; a law enforcement escort transported his body from Montgomery to Millbrook Tuesday. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating, and further details have not been released.
