Musgraves Releases Two Tejano Songs, Plans 16-Track Album

Kacey Musgraves announced “Middle of Nowhere Vol. 2: Tex Mex Tapes,” a 16-track album due Jan. 15, 2027, through Lost Highway Records. The collection has 11 original songs and five covers, including four tracks performed entirely in Spanish; one is a Spanish-language version of “Uncertain, TX” featuring Intocable. Two songs are available as previews: the original “Weekend in Texas” and Musgraves’ cover of the Norteño classic “Mi Tesoro.” The project builds on her May album “Middle of Nowhere” and explores the musical and cultural ties between Texas and Mexico, drawing on Tejano, Norteño and country influences.
