Myriad Genetics, SOPHiA GENETICS and AstraZeneca advance prostate cancer biomarker
Myriad Genetics, SOPHiA GENETICS and AstraZeneca are collaborating to advance Myriad’s prostate cancer-specific genomic instability score, or PrGIS, in clinical trials and potential companion diagnostic testing. Designed to measure chromosomal instability associated with homologous recombination deficiency, the score may help identify patients for precision oncology treatments. Myriad’s MyChoice CDx test, currently used as a companion diagnostic for ovarian cancer, will generate the score and is being developed for a potential prostate cancer indication; no prostate cancer approval or validation results were announced. SOPHiA GENETICS plans to incorporate PrGIS into a decentralized testing solution using its global network of local laboratories. Myriad and AstraZeneca also plan to present PrGIS research at the 2026 ESMO Congress.
