Nanobiotix Reports 79% Locoregional Control in Recurrent Lung Cancer Trial

Nanobiotix reported updated Phase 1 results for radiotherapy-activated JNJ-1900 (NBTXR3) in patients with inoperable, locally recurrent non-small cell lung cancer who were eligible for re-irradiation. All 24 patients completed treatment without dose-limiting toxicities or serious treatment-related adverse events, and intratumoral administration was considered feasible. Among evaluable patients, one-year locoregional control was 79%, local progression-free survival was 61%, and overall survival was 70%, achieved with a lower re-irradiation dose than in the patients’ original treatment. The company said investigators established a recommended Phase 2 dose and plans additional enrollment. Analysts cautioned that the findings remain an encouraging but preliminary signal from a small, uncontrolled early-stage study, requiring confirmation in larger trials.
