National Geographic Names Five US Destinations for 2027

National Geographic’s 2027 Best of the World list highlights four U.S. destinations: Madison, Wisconsin; California’s Pacific Coast Highway; the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas and Missouri; and Baltimore, Maryland. Catalina Island, California, was separately recognized in the Readers’ Choice category. The destinations showcase a range of attractions, from Madison’s lakefront recreation, trails and local food to coastal scenery, Ozark outdoor adventures and Baltimore’s railway heritage; Catalina’s recognition reflects its wildlife protection and hiking opportunities.
