Nationwide Recall Targets Gluten-Free Mixes Over Wheat Gluten

GF Blends is recalling certain lots of Truly AIP All Purpose Flour, Truly AIP Bread Mix and EAT G.A.N.G.S.T.E.R. Flat Bread Pizza Mix after independent testing found undeclared wheat gluten in plantain flour used in the products. The flour, supplied by PMF Global, had been labeled and certified gluten-free, but testing found gluten levels above the FDA’s 20-parts-per-million limit. The products were sold nationwide through the brands’ websites, Amazon and retail customers. People with celiac disease or severe wheat-gluten intolerance should not consume the recalled products and should return them for a refund or discard them. No adverse health effects had been reported, and GF Blends said it was notifying customers, arranging replacements and conducting additional testing.
