NBA Names Kalshi, Polymarket Preferred Exchanges
The NBA has named Kalshi and Polymarket its preferred prediction-market exchanges, granting them access to official league data and permission to use NBA intellectual property. The agreements give the league a role in determining which markets can be offered and require the platforms to share information about suspicious trading and cooperate in investigations; league and team personnel are barred from trading on NBA event contracts. The NBA also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and expanded its DraftKings partnership to include prediction markets. The league says a regulated, transparent marketplace can help protect game integrity, while the deals come amid legal disputes over whether prediction markets are regulated by federal authorities or state gambling agencies.
