NBA Stories Span Garnett, Celtics, Rockets

Kevin Garnett has been praised for the intensity and leadership he brought to basketball, though accounts suggest those qualities could have a difficult edge. Kevin Garnett recently credited Fred VanVleet with bringing organization and stability to Houston, noting that teammates such as Alperen Şengün and Kevin Durant look different alongside him. Looking back on Boston’s 2008 championship team, Danny Ainge said Garnett’s demanding standards helped drive the team but could intimidate players, while Chauncey Billups argued that players need not show the same fiery temperament to care deeply. Garnett’s influence also extended to young players: Kobe Bryant sought his advice before entering the NBA straight out of high school, following Garnett’s own path from prep star to pro.
