NC students march to polls after campus-site denials
Hundreds of students from North Carolina A&T, UNC Greensboro and Bennett College marched about 45 minutes to Union Square Campus on the first day of early voting after the Guilford County Board of Elections denied early-voting sites at A&T and UNCG, which had hosted sites in 2024. The board approved Union Square as an alternative, but students and organizers described the trip—along routes with sidewalk gaps—and long lines as barriers; some reportedly waited hours to vote. Student leaders and elected officials urged participation, while organizers said the march demonstrated that students would continue to vote despite the loss of campus polling locations.
