Netflix adds iconic broadcaster Andrés Cantor for 2027 Women’s World Cup

Netflix has added Andrés Cantor, the iconic Spanish-language soccer broadcaster known for his elongated “¡GOOOOL!” call, to its coverage of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. Netflix holds the U.S. rights in English and Spanish and the Canadian rights in English and French, though it has not fully detailed Cantor’s language assignments beyond announcing his Spanish-language coverage. The tournament will mark Cantor’s fifth Women’s World Cup and continue a broadcasting career spanning more than four decades, including 26 years with Telemundo. He is expected to begin his Netflix work with the tournament draw on Dec. 11, ahead of the June 24-July 25, 2027 competition.
