Nevada Basketball Returns to Reno Arch After Hiatus

Nevada’s men’s and women’s basketball teams brought Under the Arch Madness back to downtown Reno on Oct. 15, reviving the community event for the first time since 2017. Beneath the Reno Arch, fans watched player introductions, shooting contests, performances by the marching band and cheer squad, and other activities, while players signed autographs and met with the community. The event previewed revamped Wolf Pack rosters and a season of change: Kelly Sopak is beginning his first year as women’s head coach, while Steve Alford is entering his final season leading the men. The festivities also marked the lead-in to the teams’ upcoming seasons, with the men scheduled to host an exhibition against Utah and the women set to open on the road at Loyola Marymount.
