Nevada beats Portland State 77-71 in exhibition
Nevada rallied from a three-point halftime deficit to beat Portland State 77-71 in its final exhibition game at Lawlor Events Center. The Wolf Pack went 0-for-12 from three-point range but made 39 of 55 free throws, the program’s most attempts in a game since 2003. Elijah Price led Nevada with 21 points, and Vaughn Weems added 12. Nevada’s defense held Portland State to about 21 percent shooting in the second half after the Vikings shot better than 51 percent before halftime. Coach Steve Alford said Nevada adjusted by attacking the paint rather than continuing to force three-point shots.
