New Haven Launches Party-Bike Pizza Tour

New Haven is promoting its apizza heritage through a new guided pizza crawl aboard the Elm City Party Bike, where visitors can pedal between local pizzerias, sample and compare pies, and hear historian Colin Caplan discuss the city’s food culture. The tour highlights well-known spots including Sally’s Apizza and Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana, with Modern Apizza completing the city’s so-called “Holy Trinity.” The bike experience is part of a broader effort to draw visitors, alongside the Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale’s pizza-themed suite and other food attractions. Caplan says travelers increasingly plan trips around New Haven pizza, helping the Connecticut city establish its own reputation alongside better-known pizza destinations such as New York and Chicago.
