New York Launches $26.4M SNAP Outreach Program
New York is committing $26.4 million to Nutrition Navigators, a statewide program expected to help more than 340,000 residents access and maintain SNAP and other food assistance. The initiative will provide outreach, eligibility pre-screening, application help and guidance as expanded federal work requirements put some recipients at risk of losing benefits. Delivered through community-based providers across the state, the program also replaces earlier nutrition outreach efforts and helps address reduced federal support for SNAP administration and outreach.
