New Yorker reaches California on cross-country walk

New York native Chantz Rivera has walked roughly 2,500 miles from the Bronx to California, reaching Sacramento with San Francisco as his intended finish. He typically covers 15 to 30 miles a day and shares the journey on social media, saying he set out to break from routine, see more of the country and live more adventurously. Rivera has faced difficult weather and demanding stretches, but says he is determined to continue. Along the way, supporters have offered lodging, supplies and encouragement, while his videos and fundraising have drawn broad attention.
